Papaver orientale 'Manhattan'
Papaver orientale 'Manhattan' is a bold and eye-catching perennial from the New York series, producing large, deep raspberry-pink flowers with striking, patchy black centres. The richly coloured, ruffled blooms are carried on strong, upright stems above clumps of bright green, bristled foliage.
Perfect for adding drama to sunny borders, its medium-tall habit makes it ideal for mid-border planting, where it brings vibrant early summer colour. Low maintenance and very hardy, it is also drought tolerant once established. Its flamboyant blooms are excellent for cutting, and cutting back after flowering may encourage a second flush later in the season.
