Gaillardia aristata 'Spintop Red'
Gaillardia aristata 'Spintop Red' is a compact, free-flowering perennial that produces masses of vibrant red daisy-like blooms from early summer through to autumn. Part of the popular Spintop series, this variety combines an extended flowering season with a neat, mounded habit, making it ideal for borders, patio containers and smaller garden spaces.
Commonly known as Blanket Flower, Gaillardia originates from the North American prairies, where vast drifts of colourful blooms once covered the landscape. Once established, 'Spintop Red' is highly drought tolerant and thrives in poor, well-drained soils, making it an excellent choice for low-maintenance gardens and sunny planting schemes.
The nectar-rich flowers are highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinators, providing valuable colour and wildlife interest throughout the summer months.
