Aucuba japonica 'Crotonifolia'
Aucuba japonica 'Crotonifolia' is a bold, broad, evergreen shrub with large glossy leaves with highly decorative yellow splashed variegation. 'Crotonifolia' is a striking, female variegated aucuba that brightens shady corners and adds year-round structure. Its leathery, tropical-looking foliage is tolerant of pollution, coastal winds, and dry shade, making it an excellent choice for low-maintenance gardens. Small purple flowers may appear in spring, followed by glossy red, elliptical berries in autumn-winter if a male plant is nearby, smothering the dense and compact vegetation .
