Athyrium filix-femina
A graceful, deciduous fern with finely divided, fresh green fronds. Commonly known as the lady fern, Athyrium filix-femina brings soft texture and movement to shady borders, woodland gardens and damp, sheltered areas. Its upright, arching fronds unfurl elegantly in spring and die back in autumn, returning reliably each year. Low maintenance and native to the UK, it’s an excellent choice for naturalistic planting.
