| { | Continue to plant bulbs & spring bedding like pansies & wallflowers. | { | Now is a good time to empty the greenhouse and scrub down glass and staging with disinfectant. | |
| { | Cut back & tidy herbaceous plants. | { | A lining of bubble polythene will significantly reduce the heating bill. | |
| { | Lift Dahlias & store in trays of moist peat. | { | Cut down on watering. Most plants should be kept on the dry side. | |

| { | Plant new fruit trees, bushes & cane fruit. | { | Feed winter flowering pot plants with liquid feed every fortnight. | |
| { | Apply potash to Strawberries & Raspberries at a rate of ¾ oz. Per sq yd to improve health & fruit quality. | { | Adjust watering to suit the cooler temperatures. | |
| Vegetables | Don’t Forget | |||
| { | Sow seed of Broad Bean ‘Aquadulce’ in a sheltered well drained spot. | { | Compost as much garden waste as possible. Apply an activator to speed rotting. | |
| { | Dig heavy land & leave rough for the winter weather to break down. | |||
| { | Inspect stored vegetables for signs of decay. | |||
